Adding Bodywork to the Amelia Massage Brand

When Kathi Neidig acquired Amelia Massage, she added the term “bodywork” to the Amelia Massage brand name, because the associates offer much more than a massage practice: they are a devoted group of bodyworkers. “Our primary goal is your wellbeing, which requires focus on the body, mind and spirit,” according to Kathi.

Of course, we are some of the most talented and experienced massage therapists in the area, and of that I am proud. We offer traditional Swedish style relaxation massage from gentle to deep pressure, as do most establishments. But, when deep Swedish massage is not deep enough, we can work with our feet and body weight using a technique known as Ashiatsu.

For those who need more mobility in their lives, we can integrate a unique blend of passive stretching and kneading known as Thai on the table. This style of massage can be blended with traditional Swedish massage, or it can be adjusted to be done on a fully clothed individual: a nice alternative for those who prefer to stay dressed.

Another option for the modest person is Reflexology. This session is done entirely on the feet, and hands upon request. Every nerve of the body ends in the feet, hands, and ears. By working on these points, the entire nervous system can be effectively reached without ever having to work on the body itself.

If desired, we can even help you feel better without physical manipulation. In a Reiki session, we work with your energy field, which requires very light to no touch whatsoever. This style of bodywork can aid the realignment of your chakras and renew a sense of balance within your mind and spirit.

We offered cupping therapy with our traditional Swedish massages, long before Olympic super medallist Michael  Phelps made cupping popular.  This is a very effective way of removing toxins from the body through the suction created by the cup and the skin’s surface. Not a massage in and of itself, but therapeutic all the same, and well-paired with a traditional massage.

For those truly devoted to the improvement of their wellbeing, we have a certified life coach who is also a bodyworker and Reiki master. She can assist you in achieving your goals and dreams by helping you discover your strengths and weaknesses and their role in your empowerment.

Another popular experience available at Amelia Massage is the European Facial. Gentle cleansing and exfoliation of the skin is combined with a facial massage, customized masque and rejuvenating steam to leave your face feeling fresh and renewed.

So, as you can see, we offer a full spectrum of bodywork. Hence, adding Bodywork to the Amelia Massage brand was a natural progression. We are a committed group of therapists who are devoted to delivering the valuable benefits that massage and bodywork bring to the innate healing potential of the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of all those we serve.

Good Vibrations, the power behind Tuning Fork Therapy

Tuning fork therapy now offered at Amelia MassageGood, good, good, Good Vibrations, The Beach Boys wrote and sang the song in the mid sixties and we all liked it and still remember the feeling vividly.

The idea that sound affects the health of the mind and body is not new. … Using the human voice and objects that resonate to stimulate healing (think tuning forks and Tibetan singing bowls), sound therapy is one of a growing number of subtle-energy therapies that make up the field of vibrational medicine.
